The 'Sacred Ebony' series is an artistic expression that aims to honor the innate beauty and strength of dark skinned women but also depicts the depth of their identity and resilience.

Inspired by the book 'Black Ladies' published by the German photographer Uwe Ommer, this series of paintings, while remaining figurative, is characterised by looser strokes and less defined detail.

The contrast of the dark figure with the energetic brushwork of the predominantly white background creates a visually striking contrast.

The charcoal's lines are left on purpose to define the drawing and in some pieces wall paint is used to give texture to the background.
