The works are based on photographs that I use as a starting point to build the composition.

I work on canvas in small formats, with particular attention to detail and gesture. The process involves gradually adjusting the figures and their relationships until the balance of the scene is achieved.

These are oil paintings on canvas, and in some works the small scale and number of figures make the handling of detail a challenge.
